submissions!

There were so many works submitted with differing perspectives, and I enjoyed seeing the ideas of all participants which went beyond what I could have ever imagined. I was also impressed by the detailed creativity in the coloring, such as using color gradations and accents in different shades. In this year's judging, we evaluated the works from the perspective of uniqueness in interpretation and originality.
Drawing cells is one of the most classical and basic methods of research. Researchers also use visual hints such as "this cell is long and thin," or "this section is connected to this part," to think about the function of the cell or how the cell works. I really hope that everyone felt a spark of interest in the function of the retina as well as the wonders of its structure while enjoying coloring the picture.
Vision is one of the very important senses for humans, and because it is so familiar and natural to us, you may not have thought about how humans see things before. But once you start down this path thinking about how we see, you will find that it is full of wonders and interesting things. In our laboratory, we are conducting research to unveil the mysteries of the retina and to apply our findings to help people suffering from eye diseases.
